Background: As a homeowner with a large yard I’ve generally standardized on Makita tools for my home needs. Over the years I have a acquired a dozen or so tools based on their 18v batteries. All good, but, they don’t offer everything i like or need, which brings me to the Sun Joe products. I mentioned the Makita tooling simply to make the point that I prefer to own generally well built and reliable tools that sometimes cost more than the average offering. Because at the time of my purchase Makita didn’t offer an extension pole limb saw I decided to take a chance and purchased one from Sun Joe. I honestly expected it to last a season then end up in the trash. Surprisingly its turned out to be quite rugged. I still have it and use it routinely after 20 year of ownership. Consumable parts like the mini-chain are easy to find.Purchase Decision: That limb saw experience made me more comfortable with the purchase of this battery powered hedge trimmer. Yes, I selected it because of the positive experience with the limb saw, but also due to this trimmer being less expensive and having better functionality than anything battery operated unit from Makita. Results: I just used it to do a heavy trim on some overgrown jasmine vines climbing along some field fencing. I’m impressed with my initial results; the battery provided more than enough juice to trim both sides of a 40’ fence of vines with 2 of 3 green charge lights remaining when done. And, very surprisingly given this operated by a single 24 volt battery, the trimmer managed to cut thru the field fencing wiring when I accidentally hit it. The blades appear to worse for the wear.To cord or not to cord: As mentioned, I didn’t struggle with the decision to settle on this brand. But I did struggle a bit with the decision to go cordless. I’m happy that I went cordless now that I’ve used it.Conclusion: My expectations have been exceeded. Something I don’t say all that often which is what prompted me to leave this feedback. I hope this helps you with the decision too.Note that I’m just a regular homeowner offering my experience. I’ve not been paid by anyone to say or do anything. Happy trimming! The Sun Joe brand is really doing great. I purchased their $20 leaf blower, it is powerful and a great buy. Now, I purchased their 18in Hedge Trimmer and I love it.- Cuts Up to 5/8 Thick Branches. Very true, I do alot of trimming and it cuts them easily. On some occasions, I do not even have to use my Loppers.- Long Lasting Battery Life- The battery will last for hours even with trimming alot of hedges. I am so thankful for that 24v Battery because it is as powerful as gas but without the loud noise, heavy engine and gas fumes.- Light Weight- I'm a Woman and My Fav Feature is that it is so light to carry around. After cutting alot of hedges, my arms do not feel tired. This helps to make it enjoyable. Great Job Sun Joe!- Quiet Sound- It is not very loud. It does make a sound but you cannot hear it inside of a house. Love That!- 2 Year Warranty- I am so impressed by their products and warranty program. With the shipping, they provide a brochure that has the product info listed so it was easy to register my product online for the warranty program. I feel confident about my purchase now because I have that extra security to know if something happens, I'm covered by their warranty.-18in Length- The 18in length is fine but on wider hedges, I would have to make a couple of more swipes across. I would recommend a longer length if you have larger hedges.Great Purchase. This product truly helps to make working in the lawn easier and more enjoyable. So I received this a couple of hours ago and charged the battery for roughly an hour. I then went out and took a foot off of a large emu bush all the way around. These bushes are very stiff and the wood is quite hard, and this trimmer went through it just as well as my Black & Decker corded trimmer. Many of the limbs were 1/4 inch, maybe a bit thicker. Total run time was probably 10 minutes and the battery is still showing full charge. It's also great because most of my bushes are near an in-ground swimming pool, and I always had to be so careful to make sure the extension cord didn't get dragged into the water. Very impressive.I went with the Sun Joe because I had just bought their cordless blower, and I was happy to see this one comes with quick charger (unlike the blower). I am blown away by how well this sucker works, and I only wish I had bought it years earlier.I am a petite woman and this tool is perfect for me to do all the yard trimming. It's not too heavy and it's easy to manipulate in order to carve the hedges well. It does a great job and it's quite compact. Definitely happy with this purchaseI purchased this trimmer August 16, 2021. Today, September 15, 2022, the battery was dead and none of the lights would light up. I called Sun Joe customer service and they were really helpful. Even though the unit is 3 3/4 weeks out of warranty, they ae sending me a new battery. Most companies would not do this. The product itself works as intended however the battery was not rechargeable. Attempted to recharge on multiple occasions but failed; this was an attempt after using the product for the first time. Very disappointedI’m out the charge for a NEW battery we will see if the new battery can be recharged. This seems to be a quality product. Just got it , so haven't tried in full use yet, but what I did seems okay. After a series of game updates/patches, the game is now playable. The game is less punitive for small errors, and it is a little easier to progress and unlock some bikes to play the game. Its still way too hard for first timers! and the small crash prizes for winning races means you need to play a race multiple times before you can purchase additional bikes. The graphics are amazing, and its way better to play with a friend as the AI bots still perform unrealistic turns and crash into you too often.Original ReviewWhile the graphics and gameplay are very realistic, what really lets the game down is its unrealistic difficulty. Even on easy mode and rider aids, it is still way too hard with fast time trials and its way too over sensitive to small errors, meaning the game abruptly ends, and your left remaining unsatisfied, unable to progress through the game. The AI players will crash into you wipe you out, and perform unrealistic turns. As a massive bike fan, I was so looking forward to this!! Sadly it falls on its face very quickly after install!!Almost impossible to play, as a veteran motorsport gamer I found the physics and AI completely unplayable. Even after about 4 hours of play I still couldn't get to grips with it to get through the first few race events!Played about with the settings to adjust the race AI, bike set up, brake set up, simulation difficulty etc etc but just impossible to play and enjoy!! Deleted the game and will he trading it in at the next possible chance!!So I thought I'd be a bit cheeky and order the cheaper PS4 version despite being lucky enough to own a PS5 disc console and then upgrade to the PS5 version of the game. The label on the game cover shows UPGRADE TO PS5 available, what you can't see is the expiry date of the upgrade !The PS4 version of the game still looks pretty good on the PS5 but I bought it with the PS5 upgrade in mind. Returned and will purchase the PS5 version later on.The game plays very well, lots of bikes and tracks, pretty much RIDE 3 with some bells and whistles.Brilliantly made graphic and weather conditions. You do have to spend a lot of time getting use to the bikes handling on the bends. Its rock hard, start in career on the smaller cc bikes first. Dont go straight in it will misrepresent the gamers experience. When you get to the corners with other bikes there you can't see whats hitting you from behind and can take some speed off you to finish the turn. The steering on the bike is so unrealistic and just about impossible to do smoothly. It is far too sensitive to control with no option (so I’m told by my son) to alter the settings in the game. He did say it was slightly better with different bikes (I’ve not tried yet) but still difficult to handle
